Frequently asked questions
Which format should I convert to?
JPG is the best choice for photos and works everywhere. PNG is best for screenshots, logos and anything with transparency. WebP gives smaller files but is not supported by very old software.
Is anything lost when converting?
Converting to PNG loses nothing. JPG and WebP are lossy: we save them at high quality, so the difference is very hard to see. Location and camera details (EXIF) are removed.
Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes. Safari reads HEIC itself; other browsers download a small decoder (about 2 MB) the first time you add a HEIC photo. Your photos are still never uploaded.
