Why convert MP3 to WAV?
Some editors, samplers, game engines and hardware only accept WAV, or work better with it because it needs no decoding.
Does converting to WAV improve the quality?
No. The WAV keeps exactly what the MP3 contains, but it cannot restore detail the MP3 already discarded. The file will be about ten times larger.
What sample rate and bit depth do I get?
The WAV is 16-bit PCM and keeps the sample rate of the original MP3, usually 44.1 or 48 kHz.
