Frequently asked questions

How large can a cloud video be?

Cloud processing accepts files up to 10 GB. Upload time depends on your connection; encoding time depends on duration, codec, resolution and settings. File size alone cannot predict the waiting time.

Can I keep a large video on my device?

The separate large-browser beta processes eligible MP4/MOV files up to 10 GB without uploading video bytes. It requires supported browser codecs and enough temporary local storage, and keeps Original resolution. Cloud processing uploads your video only when you choose it.

Is cloud compression free?

A free allowance is available before purchasing. The upload page shows your remaining allowance, and the pricing page lists current paid credit amounts and validity. Failed compressions return their credits.

Can I close the browser during cloud processing?

Wait for the upload to finish and the server job to start. You can then close the tab; SqueezeVid emails a link when the result is ready. Browser processing instead needs its tab to stay open.
